Behind the Design: The Making of the Romantic Chinoiserie Mural

I'm so excited to finally introduce a very special project that’s close to my heart, the Romantic Chinoiserie Mural, now available in both dreamy blue and delicate pink. This mural is a Studio Exclusive and one I personally created from start to finish here at Koko Art Shop.

As the founder, designer, and illustrator behind the brand, I’ve always felt deeply connected to the creative process. This mural is no exception, in fact, it took months to complete. Every single element you see in the design was hand-painted with care, from the sweeping branches to the fluttering birds and the intricate floral details.

Creating a chinoiserie piece like this one is an incredibly meticulous process. It’s not just about illustrating beautiful elements, it’s about composing them in a way that feels balanced, elegant, and timeless. I spent countless hours painting each individual part, then thoughtfully arranging them together into a seamless composition.
